Written in the first person our Wendy is a smart, jaded 2007 girl who knows how to deal! But being a tennager she ISN'T dealing with her feelings of lose and isolation, simply put her Family. Being a normal teenager she is instead sublimating all her problems into her looks.. she hates her glasses. In an act of pure tennage vanity she accidentally breaks her normal glasses and being blind, replaces them with the only other ones at hand- a pair of seemingly perscription sunglasses found on her front lawn. And the world starts looking pretty different through them! Or should I say PEOPLE do! Entering into a world of faerie our Wendy is about to have an adveture that will change how she sees the world ^ ^
Simply put I loved this book. I was proud when Wendy was on her home turf and smartly sensing danger. I was alittle annoyed by her teenaged selfishness, but that's only to be expected. And I cried at the end. If there are any sequels I'm already in line!
I'm already looking into the author's other series/books.
I'd recommend this book to any veteran fantasy fan, and any new one for that matter!

I had to buy several items just to realize that glasses silhouette was the best choice for the price all along. The only negatives I've found were that there are better units available, but they are more expensive and the reviews I found on them were on the negative side. So here's my final word. I 100% endorse glasses silhouette and will even show you some places to get it even cheaper than retail.

Excellent product! The tapesry on the outside allows it to fit into any enviroment (desk, dresser top, etc.) The sheepskin on the inside protects the glasses from being scratched or nicked. I recommend it highly. Duncan Wimpress, Ph.D.

The author contends that by performing his exercises most people can drastically improve their eyesight, even to restore 20-20 vision. Of course, there is the caveat that "your mileage may vary."
I was intrigued by all the positive reviews so for the price (I think I paid $3) why not try? I think I know why some people are impressed by this book.
This is not something you can test with double-blind experiemnts (how can you hide from a subject that she is actually performing the exercises), but I suspect the reason people experience improvement is simply that they stop wearing their glasses. If you remove your glasses, your vision will be blurred for an extended period of time, since your eyes have not had to work their muscles much. But over time these muscles will 'get back in shape' and focus better. So simply by going without your glasses for a month (even without his exercises), you will see improvement.
I am 50 and I had a very mild prescription (probably because I have avoided wearing glasses most of my life). I noticed that when I started relying on my glasses my need for them skyrocketed. After going without them for a month, I found my vision improved considerably.
Bottom line: Simply taking off your glasses and leaving them off altogether (or as much as you safely can) will probably accomplish exactly the same as these exercises.
However, having said that, this book will explain how the eyes work and how you should be mindful of not straining them by, for example, staring at a computer screen for 8 hours at a time. Taking regular breaks, weening yourself from your glasses, relaxing your eyes from time to time probably will help preserve them.

Purchased the clear ones based on my experience with the smoked version. For those of us that need a corrected safety glass, these are a great product at a good price. The bifocal is low so it doesn't interfere with normal vision lines. They are comfortable for all day usage.
As for the protection sleeve, it took me awhile (actually the wife did it) to figure out that only the lenses fit in the sleeve (the bows hang out). It seems a reasonable solution but in reality the bows tend to get caught on things when the sleeved glasses are clipped to a tool belt.

After making my own bi-focals with stick on bi-focal lenses for the last couple of years, I finally can buy them.
The glasses work fine and are comfortable to wear.
I would recommend them.
